Duties: It is my job to get out in the community. To meet with potential volunteers and sponsors. Fundraising is a huge area of my job. I am truly blessed to serve our community. I wear many hats here and do each of them to the best of my abilities. My team is amazing and we all have a common goal and that is to enrich the lives of others.
Hometown: I consider Waynesville to be my hometown. I have lived here for 38 years.
Education Experience: Associates degree from Southwestern Community College.
Past Work Experience: I have always worked in human services. I love working, getting to know and develop lasting relationships with people from all walks of life. Before I moved into coordinator position, I was the processing assistant for Meals on Wheels. I worked in that position for a while. Before that I was employed with Mountain Projects for 13 years. When I started there I worked as an In-home aide for the senior services department. I moved from the senior department to Head Start. I was an early childhood educator. I left Mountain Projects to join this great team in the MOW program. I am truly blessed to be a part of an important program.
Achievement/Accomplishment: This job! I still can not believe I am in this position. I am humble and very grateful to be here.
Hobbies: It is important to me to stay busy at all times. My favorite thing to do is decorate. It allows me to showcase my creativity. I am happiest when I am with my family. Spending time with my loved ones is the perfect day for me. My newest hobby is audio books, GREAT INVENTION. This year I am up to 52 audio books and it is only April.
Interesting Fact: I want to travel from town to town living like a gypsy one day.
